Moodbidri, Feb 23: The Catholic Sabha, Paladka unit observed Elder’s Day at St Ignatius Loyola Church Hall on Sunday February 21.
Spiritual director and parish priest Fr Stany Rodrigues presided over the programme. Hilary D’Souza welcomed the gathering.
The programme commenced with a prayer song by Prafulla Sequeira and Zeena Afonso. Various entertaining games were conducted for the elderly persons and prizes were awarded to the winners. Rosaries were distributed to all the participants.
Parish priest Fr Stany Rodrigues lauded the team of Catholic Sabha for organizing such a wonderful programme for the elderly and providing them ‘feel at home’ atmosphere.
The resource person for the day, Valerian Moras dealt in depth about old-age and problems associated with it. He gave tips to elderly people on how they should prepare themselves to face the modern lifestyle. He insisted that elderly people must change their attitude towards society.
Avil D’Souza compered the programme and Victor D’Souza proposed the vote of thanks. Almost 75 elderly people participated in the programme.
