Mangaluru/Udupi, Jul 6: The Dakshina Kannada district health bulletin on Monday July 6 stated that coronavirus has affected 0.06 percent of the population so far.
On Monday, Dakshina Kannada reported 34 fresh cases of novel coronavirus, while Udupi reported 40 new cases.
As per the health bulletin, the population of DK district is 20,89,649, and the percentage of coronavirus cases against this population is 0.06%.
A total of 20,850 samples have been sent for tests so far. As many as 19,008 have turned out negative, and 1,276 are positive till date. Out of these, 667 cases are currently active. As many as 584 persons have recovered and been discharged, and 25 deaths have occured so far, including three non-COVID deaths.
Two deaths were reported on Monday. The deceased are a 52-year-old man who was suffering from heart disease, diabetes, pneumonia and other ailments, and a 62-year-old man who passed away in a private hospital.
As many as 30 patients were discharged from Wenlock on Monday. Three patients are currently in ICU, while six have been shifted out of the ICU.
Of the 34 who tested positive on Monday, 17 are primary contacts of earlier patients, nine have ILI symptoms, one has SARI symptoms, one sample was collected pre-surgery, four samples pre-surgery before delivery, and one person's contact tracing is under process. Among the primary contacts is a five-year-old girl.
Udupi
As per the health bulletin released by the Udupi district administration, a total of 4,875 people have completed 28 days of quarantine, including 2 on Monday, and a total of 4,875 have completed 14 days of quarantine. As many as 1,126 persons are currently in home quarantine.
A total of 122 people are in isolation wards, including 13 fresh admissions on Monday. Among the new admissions, one is a COVID suspect, 7 have SARI and 5 influenza-like illness.
As many as 1,102 people, including 18 on Monday, have been discharged from isolation wards so far.
A total of 18,542 samples have been collected so far, including 718 on Sunday, out of which 65 are COVID suspects and 40 are COVID contacts. Out of them, 15,540 samples have turned out to be negative, including 466 on Monday, and 1,640 reports are awaited.
As many as 1,362 confirmed cases of coronavirus have been reported so far in the district, including 40 on Monday. As many as 1,154 patients have been discharged so far, and 205 cases are currently active. Three deaths have occured so far. One positive case has been transferred to Dakshina Kannada.
Among the new cases, 18 are primary contacts, six have travel history to Maharashtra, two have travelled from Bengaluru, one from Telangana, one is ILI case, and contact tracing of 12 is under process.
