With a major share of expats in Kuwait being the Indians, it is likely that over 8 lac of them could find themselves returning back to India. As per reports, Indian expats constitute over 1.45 million of the 4.3 million population of the country, making them the largest expat community.
The anti-expat movement began in Kuwait since the beginning of the pandemic. Following which the lawmakers and government officials have called for a reduction in the number of foreigners in Kuwait.
In the last month, Kuwait's Prime Minister, Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah had also proposed decreasing the number of expats from 70 percent to 30 percent of the population.
