Bengaluru, Jul 3: The Karnataka state health department has issued regularized rates for hospitals treating COVID-19 patients in private healthcare facilities.
The health department on its official Twitter account posted the information regarding the treatment charges and mandated it as fixed charges which comprise of the entire treatment package.
As per the rates fixed, patients referred by any public health authorities would be charged the following: General ward - Rs 5,200; HDU - Rs 7,000; Isolation ICU (without ventilator) - Rs 8,500; Isolation ICU (with ventilator) - Rs 10,000.
For the patients admitted to private healthcare providers (PHP's), the charges would be as follows: General ward - Rs 10,000; HDU - Rs 12,000 Isolation ICU (without ventilator) - Rs 15,000; Isolation ICU (with ventilator) - Rs 25,000.
The cost provided above is capped by the health authorities for private healthcare centre to charge COVID-19 patients being treated.
