Yadagiri, Jul 3: There have been reports about the inhuman disposal of the body of a person who died of coronavirus infection here recently.  Yadgiri district deputy commissioner (DC), M Kurma Rao, has served a notice on taluk medical officer, Dr Hanamantha Reddy, on July 1, seeking reasons for negligence in this issue.

In the notice, the DC said that on the face of it, it is found that there was negligence in managing emergency tasks related to coronavirus control. He has sought reasons from the officer why disciplinary steps should not be initiated against him for carelessness shown in the above matter. The DC also said that in case the official fails to provide a reply within the period stipulated, the department will move ahead as per rules, duly treating that he has nothing to say in the matter.
