Bantwal, Feb 20: The 13th annual day celebration of parish unit of the Catholic Sabha of Holy Family parish, Omzoor, Meremajal, was held at the parish hall, recently.
Omzoor parish priest Fr Cyril Pinto presided over the programme. Richard Monteiro, Vijay D’Souza and Gilbert D’Souza were the chief guests on the occasion.
Parish council vice-president James Lewis, Catholic Sabha parish unit president Patrick Pinto and secretary A J Pinto were present on the dais.
Speaking on the occasion, Monteiro called on the members to reach out to the brethren in the society besides serving the community. He also urged everyone to take an active role in politics.
Gilbert shared his experiences by emphasizing the need to take an active role in the parish unit of Catholic Sabha to help the community.
Catholic Sabha Bantwal deanery president Vijay D’Souza appreciated the humanitarian work of Omzoor parish unit and urged them to continue the leadership and good work not only in the parish, but also in the deanery.
Rachana awardee Monteiro was felicitated on the occasion. The prizes for the winners of elocution competitions were distributed during the programme.
Shawn Rodrigues, youngest director of ‘Bolpo’, Konkani social play and members of Catholic Sabha were also congratulated.
‘Bolpo’ by playwright Nellu Permannur was staged as part of entertainment programme. Preema Pinto compered the programme.
