Mangaluru, Jul 1: The commendable teamwork of Kannadigaru Dubai, Namma Kundapura Kannada Balaga Gulf and Shiruru Association enabled the return of more than 170 passengers on June 29 who were stranded in UAE on account of the COVID-19 pandemic to the city by charter flight.
The flight carried people with medical needs along with pregnant women, people who lost their jobs, people who were on visit visas and senior citizens. Under the aegis of NDC Impex Gen trading LLC, the charter flight between Ras Al Khaima and Mangalore was arranged. The noble cause was supported by Kannadigaru Dubai, Namma Kundapura Kannada Balaga Gulf, Shiruru Association, Appam House Restaurant, EMC International DMCC and Electric Way LLC.
The organizers thanked Karnataka Member of Parliament for Shivamogga constituency, B Y Raghavendra, Dr Arathi Krishna - former deputy chairperson - NRI Forum of Karnataka for their support to arrange the flight.

Sadahn Das, Glen Dsilva, and Ershad Ali the organizing committee for the flight also thanked all the UAE officials, the Consulate General of India-Dubai and RAK Airport authorities for their help to run the process smoothly.
The passengers were provided with food kits and refreshments on departure by Appam House, Silicon Oasis and goodie bags were given to the pregnant women and children. On arrival, food kits by NDC Impex group were provided to all the passengers. Also, four passengers who were in real difficulty to pay the ticket fare were given free tickets through organizers Electric Way LLC and Elegant Kitchen Equipment LLC.
