Mangaluru: MRPL donates 5 ventilators for COVID-19 treatment

Mangaluru, Jun 30: Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) on June 29 handed over a cheque of Rs 70,00,000 to the district administration to procure 5 ventilators for Wenlock District Hospital.

BHV Prasad, GGM - HR and U V Aithal, CGM – HSE handed over the cheque to Kota Srinivas Poojary, district in-charge minister and Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP - DK district in the presence of Vedavyas Kamath, MLA Mangaluru south, other officials of MRPL and District administration at the DC office here.

As the COVID cases are steadily rising in the country and in the district, the district administration had requested MRPL to facilitate some ventilators to the COVID department of Wenlock Hospital. MRPL responded positively and sponsored the cost of 5 ventilators, each costing Rs 14 lac, as a Corporate Environment Responsibility (CER) activity.

 

District in-charge minister, MP and MLA praised MRPL for providing support in numerous ways to the district administration in its COVID-19 combat.
