Bengaluru, Jun 30: After a family quarrel escalated into a major confrontation between a man and his wife, the husband killed his wife by slicing away her throat. This incident happened on the night of Sunday, June 28 at Banahalli in Chandapur near here.
The murdered lady happens to be Yogashree, a resident of Tondebavi in Gauribidanur taluk. The husband, who had escaped after committing the murder, identified as Arun from Kadur, was till recently living at Malur. He was arrested by Sooryanagara police.
Arun and Yogashree had married a few years back. They had shifted residence to a rented home in Banahalli three weeks ago. The couple used to work for a plantation at Samandoor in Anekal taluk. On Sunday night, the two argued on a silly pretext. The fight worsened after which Arun murdered his wife by cutting her throat. Sooryanagara police rushed to the spot immediately after they were informed of it, and succeeded in finding out the whereabouts and arresting Arun.
