Kadaba: Gunshot fired during land dispute between brothers

Kadaba, Jun 30: Two brothers fought over a land dispute on Monday, June 29. During the quarrel, a bullet was fired with a gun. This incident happened on Monday afternoon at Ujirupade near Pijakala in the taluk.

Kushalappa Naik (45) and Balakrishna Naik (40), sons of Annu Naik from Ujirupade were involved with this friction. The two had a long-drawn feud over land and had fought on the same issue several times. On Monday, another bout of fighting was going on when Kushalappa Naik is said to have fired at his brother with his licenced gun. Balakrishna Naik said in his complaint that he escaped from the gunshot and saved his life.

In a counter-complaint, Kushalappa Naik has claimed that Balakrishna Naik snatched away the gun he was holding, and fired at him.

The police are investigating.
