Daijiworld Media Network - Mangaluru

Mangaluru, Jun 28: A speeding truck rammed into a bike and crashed into a shop at Valachil here on Sunday June 28.

It is learnt that the truck was transporting goods from Mangaluru to Bengaluru.

Sources said that the truck was moving at a high speed, and when it reached Valachil, a bike rider coming from Farangipete took a sudden right turn across the divider near the checkpost to move to a connecting road. The driver of the truck, in a bid to avoid hitting the bike, veered off to the side, hitting the bike as well as crashing into a nearby shop.

A woman pedestrian who was at the spot sustained injuries, and so also the bike rider.

The truck also rammed into two bikes that were near the shop.

Fortunately, no major injury or fatality was reported.

Kankanady traffic police arrived at the spot and registered a case.

@jossey Trucks don't go above 110 kmph & 120 speedometer doesn't exist on any Indian trucks including volvo trucks & trailers.

@jossy sir , Noted sir 140 on a black BMW now I jossey is too loves to drive faster ( not a big deal on high way coz I did once 160 on RC 390 ) and I personally don't think volvo bus in India is capable of 140 being a heavy commercial passenger bus there should be some mistake.

“ ..pilot’s licence..”😀!. You mean driver’s licence. ? India is getting industrialized more and more. There is increasing autos so it is very important to control lawlessness, violation of traffic laws and careless driving with increased enforcement of LAWS. It is a good idea to set up separate court to judge these cases that would hasten up the processes.
