Udupi, Jun 28: The SSLC student whose father had contracted coronavirus has also tested positive, Udupi health and family welfare department has said.
The girl had written the SSLC Kannada paper on June 25 and mathematics paper on June 27. Her father was then reported to have tested postive for coronavirus. She was then tested and on Sunday, her reported confirmed that she too has contracted the infection.
She will not be allowed to write the remaining exams.
Health officials said that as social distancing and other safety norms were followed during the exams, it was not necessary to subject other students to coronovirus test.

A family member of a student who appeared for SSLC exam in a centre at Padubidri here has tested positive for coronavirus, sources said, giving rise to concerns among students, the district authorities and the examination officials.
It is learnt that the student's father has tested positive for coronavirus.
The student had appeared for the SSLC exam along with several other students. Social distancing was maintained and other norms were followed throughout.

Sources said that with the student's father testing positive, other students who appeared for the exam are now worried.
The student's swab has been collected and sent for testing. The report will be received by Sunday June 28 evening, informed DDPI Sheshashayana Karinja.
If the student also tests positive for coronavirus, she will not be allowed to appear for rest of the exams. Students who are unable to appear for the exam due to coronavirus are allowed to write the supplementary exams as regular students. The student will not be allowed to write further exams until the report arrives, sources said.
If the student tests negative, special arrangements will be made by the department to ensure that the student writes the next exam in an isolated room away from the other students, Karinja said.
After much delay due to lockdown over coronavirus outbreak, the SSLC exams began in the state on June 25 with strict safety measures in place. The exams will conclude on July 4.
