Beltangady: Complainant’s wife arrested over false complaint of jewellery theft

Beltangady, Jun 27: The team of police personnel in Punjalkatte police station investigating the theft of 60 grams jewellery worth Rs 1,80,000 from the residence of Purushotham Gowda(39), Kukkala village, Punjalkatte on June 24 found that the complaint of theft was false.

Police investigations have revealed that Mamatha, the wife of Purushotham Gowda had shifted the ornaments for some financial transactions and informed Purushotham Gowda that the gold was stolen. The accused has reportedly confessed to the crime. She has been arrested, produced in the court and released on bail.
