B'lore: Governor Turns Down Doctorate Recommendation to Y K Muddukrishna

Bangalore, Feb 17: The state governor, H R Bharadwaj, who happens to be the chancellor for the government-run universities in the state, has turned down the recommendation of Mysore University to confer honorary doctorate on veteran singer of light music, Y K Muddukrishna.

At the same time, he has given his nod for the University’s recommendation to award honorary doctorates to Lok Sabha speaker, Meira Kumar, chairman of University Grants Commission, Sukhadeo Thorat, and scientist, Govardhan Mehta.
