Mangalore, Feb16: A mega health camp was organized by Milagres Centenary Celebrations Committee, Lions, Lioness and Leo clubs in association with K S Hegde Medical College as part of Milagres centenary year celebrations.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr M Shantarama Shetty, dean, K S Hegde Medical College at Milagres Silver Jubilee Hall here on Sunday February 14.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that health is very important to a person and its negligence could prove dangerous. “If the diseases are detected at an early stage it can be easily cured. A person cannot purchase health with money. Hence he needs to take a proper care of it”, he added.
A team of doctors from various departments of K S Hegde Medical College headed by Dr Jayaram Shetty conducted the medical check-up of the participants. It was a free medical camp catering to children and adults.
A B Shetty Dental College was also involved in organizing the camp. Alwyn Patrick Patrao, district governor of Lions club presided over the programme.
Fr Walter D’Mello, vicar of Milagres parish, A K Sampat Kumar, medical supervisor of K S Hegde Medical College, J K Rao, Kishor Rao , Arun Shetty, Pameeda, Minnet Tellis from Lions, Lioness and Leo Club, Marcel Monteiro, president of Milagres centenary celebrations committee and secretary Alwyn Rosario among others were present.
