Udupi, Jun 26: A mobile application that provides exhaustive details of a ward in a gram panchayat has been launched. The app provides an ancient, cultural and historical background of the ward, information about religious, educational, social, and agricultural activities in addition to development works, taxes collected, transportation system, achievements, day-to-day information, development works undertaken by the government and other exhaustive information.

Bantakal is one of the more vibrant wards of Shirva gram panchayat. The above unique effort has been made in Bantakal ward. K R Patkar, who represents the ward, has brought out this app to make detailed information about his ward available to all over the country and abroad. Bantakal Ward Vani app was launched on Wednesday by the principal of Bantakal Sri Madhwa Vadiraja Engineering College, Dr (Prof) Mahabaleshwar Bhat.

Infogent Technologies Shirva has contributed to their development of his app. This is the first time that a gram panchayat member has endeavoured to provide integrated information about his ward through an app.

Kaup taluk Kannada Sahitya Parishat president B L Pundalik Marathe, Bantakal temple managing trustee Shashidhar Wagle, gram panchayat member, Valet Castelino, Shirva Rotary designated president, Vishnumurthy Saralya were present. Gram panchayat member K T Patkar, provided detailed information.

This app can be downloaded through the Android mobile play store or login can also be through a link. Logging in is enabled by keying in name and mobile number and place. The logo in the front page shows jasmine, cultivation of which happens to be the main agricultural activity of the village.
