Kasargod: Businessman robbed of Rs 2.25 lac in cash at Udma

Kasargod, Jun 26: A businessman identified as Haneefa Talangere, resident of Pakyar Badari, was stopped and a sum of Rs 2.25 lac was robbed from him on the night of Wednesday, June 24.
 
Haneefa is involved with the business of buying old gold ornaments and selling the same. A gang which arrived in a car stopped Haneefa, who was travelling in his scooter, near Goddess Rakteshwari shrine at Udma, Palakunnu. Over Rs 2.25 lac in cash and two cellphones were reportedly snatched away from him.
 
Haneefa was returning home after closing down his shop when the gang waylaid him. Haneefa said that the robbers came in a white colour car. It is learnt that Haneefa was earlier robbed off Rs 1.25 lac at the same spot two years back.
