South western railway zone TTE succumbs to Covid-19

Bengaluru, Jun 25 (IANS): A South Western Railway (SWR) zone Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) succumbed to Covid-19, an official said on Thursday.

"One TTE was not feeling well while he was at his native place and visited a doctor once. After two days, he died," said a railway zone official.

Later, on taking a swab from the deceased TTE and testing it, the result came as Covid positive.

"It is suspected that he contracted the virus when he travelled to Miraj," said the official.

Miraj is a town located in southern Maharashtra.
