Mangaluru: Three cows electrocuted at Manjanady

Mangaluru, Jun 25: In a tragic incident which happened on the roadside at Padinchar near Montugoly, Manjanady in the taluk, three cows were found lying dead on Wednesday June 24. They are believed to have been electrocuted.

The cows belonged to Beerur Chandrahas Shetty. It is said that they are in the last stages of their pregnancy and expected to give birth to calves soon. The spot where the cows were found dead has a transformer. The locals stated that the cows died due to power which was transmitted through its insulator cables.

The villagers have blamed MESCOM for this tragedy. Village accountant, Prasad, MESCOM representatives etc visited the spot and assessed the situation.
