Udupi, Jun 24: Private hospitals registered to treat COVID-19 patients should make all the necessary preparations, said deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha.
He spoke at a meeting of hospital heads registered to treat coronavirus patients. 19 hospitals which registered cannot deny treatment to COVID-19 patients any time, he said.
"108 positive cases in the district are being treated in Kundapur and Karkala at present. The registered hospitals will be provided information on admission and treatment processes. Their cleaning staff and others are being trained. All the private hospitals should open fever testing centers and isolation wards.
"Several hospitals in the districts were permitted to treat coronavirus patients but no patients got themselves admitted in them."
Additional deputy commissioner Sadashiva Prabhu, DHO, Dr Sudhir Chandra Sooda, district surgeon, Madhusoodan Nayak, COVID-19 district nodal officer, Dr Prashanth Bhat and heads of hospitals registered to treat COVID-19 patients were present.
