Kundapur, Jun 24: The state government has declared compensation package of Rs 5,000 each to all the auto-rickshaw drivers having badges to compensate for the lockdown losses. Minister, Kota Srinivas Poojary, said that the chief minister has instructed the concerned to disburse this package to even those who do not have badges. He said that complaints received about the app used to fill in the form in this respect would be attended to and rectified.
Speaking to media persons on Tuesday, June 23, he said that there have been numerous cases of the police and health department officials getting corona infection. "We will take additional precautions. As the coronavirus cases mount, the state government will efficiently manage the hospital facilities and other needs. There could be some ambiguity in what ministers say about corona cases, but in the government, there is no confusion," he asserted.
He said that out of 23,000 beneficiaries of the fishermen's loan waiver scheme, 19,700 are from Udupi district and 2,000 each from Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts. The minsiter claimed that because of staff shortage in nationalized banks, fisheries department staff were deputed for data entry and as at Money, 19,000 entries have been completed. He also added that out of Rs 40 crore subsidy demand towards diesel, Rs 25 crore has been received.
