Mangaluru, Jun 24: The work of planting of tree saplings has been in progress between Talapady and Nanthoor. The programme has been undertaken by the forest department with the support of the National Highways Authority of India. Nature lover Madhava Ullal, has been shouldering the responsibility for the success of this scheme.
Kadamba trees are being planted on both sides of the road, and Madhava is busy with this task. Local organizations and institutions, setting aside caste and religious affiliations, have been wholeheartedly supporting this endeavour. In two years’ time, these saplings are expected to grow into robust trees, lending an elegance and naturally rich look, which is the long-cherished dream of Madhava Ullal.
One hopes that the people will at least realize the natural beauty of trees and their need as well as importance in one's life at least after looking at their elegant presence. Madhava has been putting in lot of efforts towards the success of the scheme. At the same time, his concept of growing greenery everywhere needs to be wholeheartedly supported by the people en masse.
