Mangaluru: Dr Vinay Hegde chosen for Rotary Vandana Award - 2020

Mangaluru Jun 23: Eminent educationist, industrialist and chancellor of NITTE University, Dr Vinay Hegde has been chosen for the Rotary annual state level prestigious 'Vandana Award – 2020'.

The award is jointly instituted by Rotary Club of Mangalore Central and Rotaract Club of Mangalore City, which will be conferred upon Dr Vinay Hegde Mangaluru in appreciation of his exemplary achievements in the field of education. The award comprises of a citation, plaque and memento.

Kota Srinivas Poojary, district in-charge minister, Karnataka state Minister for Port and Fisheries will grace the occasion as chief guest and will felicitate the awardee in a function to be held on Saturday June 27 at 6.30 pm at Hotel Ocean Pearl, Mangaluru.

President of the Rotary Club of Mangalore Central, Rtn Dr Jayaprakash Poonja will preside over the function. Rotary district assistant governor, Rtn Geethanada Pai and district Rotaract representative Rtr Ganesh G T will be the guests of honour on this occasion.

Rotary Club and Rotaract Club annually confer their prestigious state level Vandana Award upon the exemplary achievers in the field of sports, literature, industry, business, banking, music, medical science, Engineering, art, culture and social service as part of their vocational service projects, revealed by Award Selection Committee chairman, Rtn Dr Devdas Rai, secretary Rtn K M Hegde, Rotaract president, Rtn Sheldon Crasta were present at the press meet.
