Mangaluru, Jun 21: The mortal remains of a youth from Addur, who had died two weeks ago in Abu Dhabi, UAE, reached his native place here on Sunday, June 21.
Yashwanth Poojary, son of Lalita and late Narayana, natives of Addur, passed away in Abu Dhabi on June 5 following cardiac arrest.
Yashwanth had gone to Abu Dhabi three years ago on employment. It was initially said that Yashawanth had died in an accident. However, it was later confirmed that he had died of cardiac arrest.
The matter was brought to the notice of Asif Sooralpadi, president of Todaru Adarsh English Medium School. He immediately contacted NRI businessman Hidayath, who is also a native of Addur. Hidayath and his team swung into action, but they did not know where Yashawanth worked. They immediately created a WhatsApp group and managed to trace his workplace. They also created a page on Facebook in order to gather more information and coordinate better.
Yashawanth's passport and visa had expired. Nearly 45 documents had to be made ready because of this. They also contacted the Indian embassy. In addition, the deceased was tested for coronavirus, the report of which turned negative. Hidayath's team also coordinated in the post-mortem.
Asif Suralpadi, Muzammil Nooyi, Bhagyaraj, Rajesh Maroli, Deepak Mangaluru, lawyer Ullas Pinto helped from Mangaluru. In UAE NRI Kannadigas like Sridhar, Rashid Bejai, Sirajuddin Parladka, Pradeep Kirodian, Daya Kirodian, Naveed Magundi, Praveen Shetty, Basheer Koodlipete, Sharif Sarvey, Imran Khan Ermal and Deepa Poojary coordinated in bringing the mortal remains of Yashawanth to his native place.
As soon as the NRI Kannadigas came to know about the death of Yashawanth Poojary, they tried to get information from his Facebook account. They also informed the matter to NRI businessman Asif Sooralpadi, who inturn informed the matter to local of Addur Devadas. Devdas informed the matter to teacher Shyamala of Rosa Mystica school of Kaikamba. She inturn informed the matter to local person Bhagyaraj. Due to the efforts of Asif, Devaraj and Bhagyaraj, the matter was informed to deceased Yashwant's mother.
On the whole, due to the collective efforts of several people, cutting across religious lines, the mortal remains of Yashawanth reached his native place.
