Why Dhoni Went to Kolkata Police Headquarters

Kolkata, Feb 13: Love of old motorbikes led Indian cricket skipper M.S. Dhoni to the city police headquarters at Lalbazar Friday night.

"Some police officers had told the Indian skipper that the city police has an old model of motorbike - Yamaha 350 - kept in the headquarters premises. So, he went to Lalbazar at night," Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) joint secretary Biswarup Dey told IANS over phone.

He said Dhoni also rode the bike.

As Dhoni's visit to Lalbazar became public, a large crowd gathered in the building's vicinity.

Hordes of electronic media personnel and photographers also rushed to the spot.

Speculation was also rife as nobody was sure why the cricketing icon had suddenly gone inside the police headquarters. Dhoni added to the suspense by refusing to answer any of the queries from the scribes while leaving Lalbazar around 9.45 p.m.

"I have been receiving umpteen number of phone calls from mediapersons who seemed all at sea," said a smiling Dey.

Joint Commissioner of police Javed Shamim said the city cops have two such bikes.
