Bengaluru, Jun 19: D K Shivakumar is scheduled to take over charge as Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president on July 2. It is gathered that he is conducting a survey on the level of response of party leaders to the proposed swearing-in ceremony.
Shivakumar is learnt to have fanned off his close ones to different districts to assess the level of efforts being put by the leaders to the success of his swearing-in ceremony. He is collecting the preparations being made by the district leaders for the programme.

The party is preparing for a live relay of the swearing-in ceremony at 10,000 places. He also has been provided with the information about district level leaders who have not taken the matter seriously. He has warned the district leaders, asking them to deem the said programme as that of the party and contribute to the tremendous success of the programme.
Shivakumar wants to ensure that the programme is watched by a huge audience to assert his supremacy over others. He has called for a meeting of former office bearers and district presidents of the party on June 22. The meeting has been convened on the basis of information conveyed to him by his close ones from different districts. He has warned the leaders that when choosing office bearers of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, the behaviour and response of the leaders will also be taken into account.
