Puttur: Police constable's wife complains of torture

Puttur, Jun 19: The wife of a police constable has filed a complaint in Sampya station here, alleging that her husband has been inflicting mental and physical torture on her. The constable concerned is attached to the traffic police station here.

Ashwini Sharada, the wife of constable Shantakuar, filed this complaint. She was admitted into the government hospital here on June 16. She explained in her complaint that theirs was a love marriage which was solemnized three months back. "Shantakumar began to fight even for trivial issues. Therefore, I used to stay at my parental home at Sampya and visited the residential quarters of my husband often. Recently, my husband stopped talking to me. On June 16, when I visited the police quarters, he hit me with a helmet besides posing death threat," she said in her complaint.

The police are investigating.
