Mangalore, Feb 9: Guardian Angel parish, Angelore, here celebrated the Confraternity Sunday on February 7.
A solemn Eucharistic procession marked the preparations for the closing ceremony of platinum jubilee celebrations of the parish.
Around 2,000 faithful were gathered at Capitanio School premises for the Eucharistic celebration at 5.00 pm. Mangalore diocese vicar general monsignor Fr Denis Moras Prabhu offered the Holy Mass along with Angelore parish priest Fr Stany B Lobo and assistant parish priest Gratian Alvares, Fr Denis Rasquinha SJ, Fr Ronni Serrao, Fr Anil Prakash Castelino and Fr Maxim D’Souza.
The Holy Eucharist placed in a decorated open vehicle was taken in a procession from Capitanio School to Angelore parish, accompanied by the parishioners singing hymns and praying devotionally. Vincent Lobo narrated the significance of Eucharistic procession while on the way.
Appropriately beautified stretch of National Highway 48 from Capital School to Angelore parish with colorful buntings, palms and banners derived from Bible by the parish, not only added grandeur, but also the meaningful words from the Holy Scriptures on the banner rendered appetizing food for the thought and reflection to thousands of commuters on these two days.
A thought-provoking homily by the chief celebrant and the benediction of the Blessed Sacrament concluded with attractive display of fireworks at the parish grounds.
