Shivamogga, Jun 12: Swami Vinayananda Saraswati of Ramakrishna Ashram in Kallagangur village here has tested positive for coronavirus infection. As such, the Ashram has immediately been sealed down.

The Swamiji has been placed in quarantine and his treatment has started.

After the lockdown was lifted, many from the state and outside have visited the Swamiji and got his blessings. It is likely that during this period, he would have contracted the disease. The Swamiji has no recent travel history.

A large number of devotees and followers of the Ashram would have come in contact with the Swamiji recently. This has given rise to problems for the district administration as it is almost impossible to determine how the Swamiji got the disease, and also to figure out the people who visited the Ashram as there is the possibility of many people getting infected with the disease during their visit to this Ashram.
