Kundapur, Jun 11: The alleged supply of contaminated drinking water in Siddapur here, took a new turn as consumers of water arrived in panchayat auditorium on Thursday and clarified the allegation that they have always received clean drinking water.
Vandse block youth Congress had gheraod gram panchayat office on Monday and alleged that contaminated water is being distributed to people.
Siddapur gram panchayat member, Shekar Kulal who is blamed for providing contaminated water swore in the meeting on Thursday that he had supplied clean water. He said that the misunderstanding between the tanker driver and he is the cause of the allegation. “There are attempts to malign my name after receiving money from politicians. I have done no wrong,” he clarified in front of the people and reporters.
