Mangaluru, Jun 10: MLA U T Khader said that the government is playing politics in the name of Epidemic Act by denying permission to DK Shivakumar to assume charge as KPCC president on June 14.
Addressing the media here on Wednesday June 10, U T Khader said, "At first permission was denied to hold it on June 7 which was later postponed to June 14. We made sure no people would gather and planned to conduct the program in a systematic way, but the government denied permission. However, there was complete violation of government norms when a rally was conducted in Chitradurga, why such bias?" questioned Khader.
Khader said, “Government's intention will be different, speak different and implement differently. Government is in complete confusion as there are no tests, quarantine and lockdown has been relaxed which is a big mistake. If the situation goes out of control in the next two months BJP will surely blame the people, instead accept the mistake that you have committed now."
Regarding the exams the MLA said that there is no clarity from the government as ministers change their statements every now and then due to the lack of coordination between the minister and government which has led to the confusion. Government needs to come up with a decision by conducting a meeting with the ministers, stake holders and parent, he suggested.
Khader said that during the two months of lockdown the government should have planned regarding the exams and reopening of schools to avoid confusion. If the exams start, the government has to make arrangements for the students coming from outside states, he said.
