Bengaluru: Two workers die when cleaning septic tank - Another critical

Bengaluru, Jun 10: In an accident which happened while a septic tank was being cleaned, two died while the condition of the third is said to be precarious.

The incident happened at Paloma Engineering Pvt Ltd near Tirumagondanahalli, Anekal here. The deceased have been identified as Anand (32) and James (25). The condition of another person, Chandrashekhar, is said to be critical.

The septic tank was being cleaned with the help of a jetting machine. Accidentally, a tool fell into the tank. Jetting machine operator, James, got down the tank to retrieve the tool. He fell unconscious. As James did not come up even after a long time, Paloma company employee, Anand, got down into the tank but he too lost his consiousness. Company human resources staff, Chandrashekhar, went down to bring the other two but he too fell unconscious.

Fire brigade personnel later brought all the three out. But James and Anand died without responding to treatment given at a private hospital. Surya City police who visited the spot, scrutinized the spot and registered a case.
