Mangaluru, Jun 9: As the part of Year of Life-2020, Mangalore diocese’s Laudato Si committee conducted ‘Happy Face Photo Contest’ for the public. The main intention of this contest was to attract youth and others and bring awareness among them about the value of human life.
A good number of people above the age of 12 sent entries for the contest. The results of the contest which were delayed due to the lockdown are out now.
The winner of Happy Face Photo Contest male category is Adriel Savio Miranda from Bejai Anegundi Road. The winner of Happy Face Photo Contest female category is Aiswarya S from Yekkur.

The winners will get a cash prize of Rs 10,000 each.
Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, Bishop of Mangalore, proclaimed the ‘Year of Life’ in January 2020 and the same was inaugurated in parishes of Mangalore diocese with various activities like prayer and yellow ribbon movement. Handbills will be distributed to create awareness about the evil of suicide. Workshop and seminars on the protection of human life and counselling were also done. A toll-free helpline support number to prevent suicides is also launched.
