Kundapur, Jun 8: Vandse block youth Congress gheraoed Siddapur gram panchayat on the morning of Monday, June 8, accusing that complaints are being heard that tender holders have supplied contaminated drinking water under gram panchyat limits of Siddapur towards the end of summer of 2020.

The members of youth Congress demanded an inquiry into these allegations. Prashant Karki, youth Congress president said, "When Covid-19 cases are increasing in and around Siddapur gram panchayat, contaminated drinking water is supplied to the homes of people living in Karebailu village. This water was directly filled from Varahi canal without purifying it. Public has raised objection on this. But the panchayat is silent. If no action is taken on this issue, we will further intense our protest along with Byndoor block youth Congress."

Chief secretary of Vandse Youth Congress Sudarshan, Manjunatha Kulal, Shashidhara and Dinesh Naika were present. An appeal in this regard was submitted to gram panchayat development officer Ravindra Rao.
