Kundapur, Jun 8: Kollur Mookambika temple has opened as per government directions on Monday, June 8. Nearly 150 devotees prayed to the deity on Monday morning.

There are certain restrictions imposed in the timings of the temple as per government guidelines and for people’s safety as Covid-19 pandemic is spreading.

The door of the temple opens at 5 am. Devotees are allowed to visit the deity between 5.30 am and 7.30 am, 10.30 am and 1.30 pm and 3 pm and 6 pm. Visits are not permitted between 7.30 am and 10.30 am and 1.30 pm and 3 pm. Afternoon and night meals are not provided.

Temple chief executive Aravind Sutthugundi explained that devotees should wear masks while entering the temple and maintain social distance. “Entry of people above 60 years of age and small children is banned for next 15 days. Meals are not provided as of now. Those will be arranged later in stages. Nearly 150 devotees have arrived in the temple today. It is estimated that about 500 devotees may visit the temple per day during monsoons,” he said.
