Kundapur, Jun 5: World Environment Day was celebrated enthusiastically with the active participation of the women in villages here on Friday. It was celebrated like a traditional festival amidst the lockdown.

The environment can survive only when its awareness reaches every house. Its awareness improves agriculture along with the environment.

Members of Dharmastala rural development project proudly celebrated the day in their houses. They upheld the importance of the day by planting saplings in their land.

Programmes of planting saplings were held in Kalavara, Halnadu, Thekkatte and Bagalakere vicinity of Kavrady by Dharmastala rural development project. Kundapur Pragatibandhu group had asked to plant at least one sapling in the houses of its members. The response was beyond expectation.
