Mangalore, Feb 1: The board of directors of Central Arecanut and Cocoa Marketing and Processing Cooperative Ltd (Campco) unanimously elected Konkodi Padmanabha as the president on Saturday January 30.

The election was necessitated following the resignation of S R Rangamurthy, who has been nominated as the member of the Karnataka Public Service Commission.

Konkadi Padmanabha, the secretary of Sahakar Bharati, a non-government organization has been working towards reinforcing the co-operative movement. He was also the former taluk secretary of Vishwa Hindu Parishat.
