Mangaluru, Jun 4: A person accused of participating in a murder attempt case, was caught by the police after several months. With his help they tried to catch hold of his accomplice but the accused used this opportunity to give them a slip, by using a police motor bike. This incident happened at Kallapu, Ullal on Monday.
A person from Ullal reportedly was involved in a murder attempt case. Fearing arrest, he fled to Bengaluru. After they got to know that he had come back home to take part in the Ramzan festival, the police had nabbed him.
During his interrogation, he agreed to provide information about another person who was involved with him in the said crime. Two policemen got him seated in the middle of a motorbike and went to Ullal. When they reached Kallapu, the accused pointed out to a person from a distance to indicate that he was his partner in crime. The policemen believed him and got down from the motorbike. They forgot the ignition key in the bike.
As soon as the policemen began to walk, the accused started the bike and rode away. He escaped after leaving the bike at Ullal Abbakka Circle. The police, who questioned the man who the accused had identified, realized that he is innocent. The police are now searching for the accused who escaped and the other one who is yet to be identified.
