Udupi: Medical education minister Dr Sudhakar visits Manipal medical university

Udupi, Jun 3: Minister of medical education, Dr Sudhakar visited Manipal Medical University and held discussions with officials and Manipal hospital doctors regarding COVID-19 treatment. He assured to provide additional facilities to TMA Pai COVID hospital before proceeding to examination centre and library.

Manipal organization has provided Udupi’s TMA Pai hospital for the treatment of COVID infected patients free of charge. Over 45 patients among those admitted there have recovered and have been discharged. Most of them were children. The number of infected people in the district has increased now. As providing free treatment in the future will be a burden for the hospital, Udupi MLA K Raghupati Bhat requested the medical education minister to provide PPE kits and facilities related to treatment.

Dr Sudhakar in the review meeting held in district panchayat auditorium commended the treatment being provided by KMC hospital and their excellent facilities.

MAHE vice-chancellor H S Ballal, MAHE’s Narayan Sabhahit, chief security officer Prabhudev Mane, district medical officer Sudheer Chandra Sooda, Udupi BJP president Mahesh Thakur and Manipal University staff members were present.
