Bangalore, Jan 31: It is learnt that the three Congress MLAs, who were summoned to appear before the house committee appointed to probe their behaviour during the unsavoury incidents in the assembly after the speakers’ election, have refused to appear before the committee.
The house committee, headed by Hemachandra Sagar from the BJP, had asked MLAs, A Manju, Rahim Khan and Kakasaheb Pandunga Patil from the Congress Party, through notices, to appear before the committee and explain their behaviour. It is learnt, that the MLAs in a letter to Sagar, refused to appear before him, but expressed regret about the incident, claiming that the incident occurred as they were emotionally charged at the time.
It is said that the MLAs are prepared to explain things if the need be, in the assembly. The secretariat of the assembly, in the meanwhile, is in a fix, as reportedly, the CCTVs fitted in the assembly hall have not properly recorded the said incident.
