Mangaluru, Jun 3: Central crime branch police, who are investigating unlawful activities of underworld fugitive Ravi Poojary, have arrested his aide who has been accused of making innumerable extortion calls. The arrested accused has been identified as Ghulam. It is said that he worked to extort money from people under instructions from Poojary.
The police personnel who arrested him in the city, have produced him in the court. He has been taken into police custody for ten days. Ghulam is being interrogated now.
Ravi Poojary was recently handed over to the state police team after being flown to India from Senegal in Africa. Poojary faces over 50 cases within the limits of the police commissionerate here. He also has cases against him elsewhere including Mumbai.
