Udupi, Jun 2: The district BJP president, Kulady Suresh Naik in his address at a press meet here on Tuesday June 2, said that the district BJP has called to boycott all Chinese products to boost the Indian economy.

He said that the party has taken the initiative to create awareness through social media and has asked all party members not to purchase any China manufactured products such as AC, refrigerator and so on.

Naik said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed his first year of the second term successfully and implemented various notable regulations. The government has carried out several key decisions including Abrogation of Article 370, criminalization of triple talaq, anti-terrorism law, Citizenship Amendment Act, Ayushman Bharat scheme and so on."

Besides the accomplishments, he said, "The Prime Minister has received a good response from the citizens and is appreciated all over the world for the manner he has handled the COVID-19 outbreak throughout the nation."

He further said, "Modi announced Atma Nirbharta package to promote self-employment to the budding entrepreneurs. After the lockdown, the lifestyle is changed and the time has come to see Nava Bharath. It would take two more years to witness the yield from the schemes implemented by the union government. Around 59 percent of the people have given suggestions towards the eradication of unemployment."

Responding to the allegations of Pramod Madhwaraj on the sand scam from the Swarna river, Naik said that the allegations are blindly put sitting inside his home. "The river is located in a public vicinity and anyone could come and extract sand. The district administration and mining department are responsible to monitor such activities. Let a fair investigation take place, the BJP will also support it." Naik said.

General secretary Guruprasad Katpady, Manohar Kalmady, Sadananda Uppinakudru and Shivakumar Ambalpady were present among others for the press meet.

First of all encourage companies to manufacture locally with some incentives. Just slogan Make in India will not do. Call for boycott of chinese items has become diversionary tactic during crisis.

Mr Modi should give the call to boycott chinese products. BJP Advocated boycotting Chinese products is just cosmetic and will not make a difference until the centre curbs all Chinese imports.
