Bantwal, Jan 30: The united efforts of School Development Managing Committee (SDMC) of entire taluk is essential, in order to transform all government schools into graded education centres, said Valored director Renny D’Souza.
He was speaking at a discussion meet of members of SDMCs of government schools in the taluk held at B C Road here on Thursday January 28. Although individual SDMCs are focusing on quality education, the response of concerned department seems to be not up to their expectation. Meanwhile the strength of collective SDMCs should have the major impact on education department thereby alert the state administration, added Renny D’Souza.
Taluk education resource centre president Umesh Nirmal said that the centre aims to bring about changes in schools by united efforts of all SDMCs.
The meeting was organized under the aegis of taluk Education Resource Centre. Over 150 members of SDMCs of various schools attended the discussion meet and expressed their concern over the apathy of education department, besides stressed on the need to draw plans to work in unity in this regard.
The convenors and co-convenors for 16 cluster-level SDMCs under the taluk here were selected on the occasion.
Taluk education resource centre vice-president Kushala Shetty, past president Manju Vittal, treasurer Farouq Goodinabali, Pudu Village Education Committee convenor and zilla panchayat member Ummer Farouq, Vamadapadav village education committee convenor Ramaraya Nayak, Education Resource Centre district federation secretary Nanda Pais and joint secretary Bharathi Rajendra were present.
