Kaup: Four found infected with coronavirus after completing quarantine

Kaup, Jun 2: Four persons who had completed their mandatory institutional quarantine period at Karkala centre after arriving in the district from Maharashtra, have been found infected with this deadly virus. All the four, who belong to Badettu near Paduhitlu in Padubidri stand admitted into Dr TMA Pai Corona Hospital at Udupi.

All the four belong to a single family. During the quarantine, a woman among them had displayed symptoms of the disease but she was sent home before the receipt of the test report. A woman who was a member of this group is already being treated at the COVID hospital at Udupi.

Padubidri police sub-inspector Subbanna, with the support of staff, arranged to seal down the Badettu area. Kaup tahsildar Muhammed Issac, and other officials undertook inspection of the place. Four houses in the area have now been sealed down.
