Udupi, Jun 1: District Congress Kisan unit welcomed KPCC president, Saleem Ahmed during his maiden visit to the district, felicitating him with a green shawl, a symbol of the Kisan unit. The unit submitted an appeal to him regarding the issues faced by the farmers.
“Problems are being faced due to amendments in APMC and electricity departments by the centre and the state. The lockdown compensation announced by the government has not reached the beneficiaries. KPCC should try to make it reach them,” urged the Congress Kisan unit.
“Two-kilo rice is already reduced in the Annabhagya scheme announced by Siddaramaiah. Several farmers are deprived of Sala Manna and Runa Mukta scheme brought about by Kumaraswamy. Sala Manna's money has not reached the bank yet. KPCC should press the government to continue all the schemes provided by Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy to avoid problems to the farmers.
