Mangaluru: Low pressure area over sea - Orange alert in coast

Mangaluru, Jun 1: Due to low pressure area created over the Arabian Sea, the coastal belt of Karnataka has been experiencing rain. The meteorological department has predicted chances of heavy rain in the coming days. It has issued orange alert in Dakshina Kannada district.

Most parts of the coast have been experiencing drizzle since 8 pm on Sunday. The district administration in the meanwhile, has warned about chances of rain between 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm. It has asked the people to be careful and to call toll free No. 1077, in case of natural calamity.

The meteorological department has also advised fishermen against venturing into the sea till June 3.
