Kundapur, Jun 1: A woman personnel attached to Shankaranarayana police station in the taluk has tested positive for coronavirus. Swab test of all police personnel of the district is being done and during such test, the infection in the said woman personnel was confirmed.

Giving more details, Hariram Shankar, ASP of the taluk said, "This is a suspected coronavirus case. As this woman did not do field work and was confined to the police station only, plus she does not have any travel history, her throat swab sample will be sent for a second test on Monday, June 1. Only after the report is received on the evening of Monday, the case will be confirmed."

Hariram also said that though it is not confirmed in the second test, the police station is being sanitized for a day on Monday, June 1. If the throat swab report of the woman turns negative on the evening of Monday, then the police station will start functioning in usual manner.

The ASP also said that there is a high chance that this might be a wrong report. So at present, no seal down or any other steps are being taken.
