Mangaluru: Two trains to touch Mangaluru from Monday

Mangaluru, Jun 1: The union railway ministry has allowed movement of trains between states. As a result, two trains will be operational through Mangalore Junction station every day from Monday.

Mumbai-Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express train (No. 06345/06346) and Hazrat Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Mangala Lakshadweep Daily Express (02618/02617) will be operated via Junction station here. The train leaving Thiruvananthapuram in the morning reaches here at night and will move towards Mumbai. The other train which leaves Ernakulam touches the Junction station at night. On the next day, the Mumbai train comes in the morning while the Mangala Lakshadweep train will pass at night.

For the passengers, it is mandatory for them to confirm the confirmed status of their tickets before entering the railway station. They should be present at least 90 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the trains. It is compulsory for them to have an Aadhar card and other documents. Those who book the tickets have to necessarily provide details of those who travel by the trains.

At present, Rajdhani Express train moves three days every week through the Junction station. 'Shramik' trains are run on the basis of need. As per the list released by the railway ministry, nine special trains will operate from today including the above.

Additional deputy commissioner M J Roopa clarified that the railway passengers coming from hot spot states have to complete the institutional quarantine of seven days run by the district administration here.
