Bengaluru-based D Shilpa appointed first woman SP of Kasargod district

Kasargod, May 30: D Shilpa, hailing from Bengaluru is appointed first woman SP of Kasargod district. P S Sabu who was the SP has been transferred to Alayappuya. Shilpa who had served as ASP in Kasargod in the past is the 37th SP to be serving in Kasargod.

Shilpa was appointed ASP of Kasargod after the retirement of V Sukumaran who was Kasargod DySP. Shilpa who belonged to 2016 IPS batch was assigned the post of ASP after her training in Hyderabad and Trissur. She served as ASP in Kasargod for 11 months. Shilpa is in Thiruvananthapuram at present and is likely to take charge as SP next week.

Shivamogga based Dr Srinivas was another Kannadiga who had served as SP in Kasargod earlier.
