Puttur: Fall from motorbike proves fatal for contractor

Puttur, May 30: A PWD contractor, who fell off a motorbike when riding on Puttur Panaje Road near Kaikara in the taluk on Friday May 29 evening, sustained serious injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Janardhan Rai (54), a native of Anaje in Nidpally and currently residing in Olamogru Pundikai.

Rai had fallen on the road along with the bike he was riding on near the milk depot at Kaikara between Santyar and Kaikara on Friday evening. He was immediately taken to a private hospital at Puttur but he breathed his last on the way.

It is unclear whether this was an accident or whether he suffered a heart attack while riding the bike. Rai is survived by his wife, a daughter and a son.
